I never tire of painting pictures of Sanibel Island, with its starkly beautiful beaches. Hurricane winds leave dead trees near the water, and these provide convenient perches for waterfowl. This isolated deadwood contrasts beautifully, I think, with the lush green of the Australian pines to the left and with the distant causeway linking the island to the mainland's hustle and bustle.
